Ciudad Sandino Week 72

Hey there fam-bam, It's your Elder Hironaka. This week was another awesome week here in the mission I was able to feel the spirit and see a family come together! A part from that I was able to have another wedding, baptism, and listen to Elder snow talk.
This month has been a little crazy for my zone. We have had a lot of success and we are preparing to have a great month of November. This last week I was able to go and talk to a investigator for his baptism. He told me that he needed to be get married or that his 17-year-old girl friend had to leave. We told them to think about it and to pray. That next day they told us that they were more than happy to be married and that not only he wanted to be baptized but she would be baptized as well!! It was crazy but was a very cool experience that shows me how powerful family prayer is.
We were blessed to have a wedding and a baptism in our area tool. His name is Jorge. He has 5 kids all under the age of 8. Yes, his house is crazy loud, but I feel comfortable there haha. He has had some problems when it has come to drinking but he has really fought hard and has finally stopped. This week he and his wife had a fight and they told us that they didn't want to get married. We talked to them for a long time and they told us that they would do it. At the baptism it was funny because one of their little boys went for a little swim during the opening prayer in the baptism fount haha.
Saturday morning we also had a multi-mission meeting. We have had a lot of them recently and I feel it is because sometime in the near future Nicaragua will have a temple!!!! But it was great because we listened to Elder Snow talk about how we need to work hard. I also looked around at our mission and thought, "oh crap I'm like one of the older missionaries here"...(time in mission, not age).

This week was a great week and I hope next week will be even better!! I don’t think I will have changes but If I do tell ya about it next week!!!! Love you guys!!!!!!!

Ciudad Sandino Week 71

Well hey Mom, I don’t have a lot of time to write but I really wanted to tell you I love you and wanted to share with you something that happened this last week.
This Sunday I also had a great experience happen. I was sitting in priesthood when I had a feeling to go to an area in my zone. My companion and me quickly left to the other area. When we arrived in the other area called Prinzapolka, the Elders there were searching for their investigators who had left, greeted us. We helped them and about 10 min before the sacrament meeting started we got their investigators to come to church. The day was a little strange because this Sunday like no one showed up on time. So, we started 30 min. late. I quickly noticed that their other investigator that had gotten baptized the week before was not there either. We left the church running as fast as we could. Yeah 2 white missionaries running super fast in the street somewhere… When we got to her house, I started talking with her and asked her why she wouldn’t leave her house.  After 30 min of talking with her, She told me she was scared her Mom would get really mad at her. So I talked to the mom. She told me if her 18-year-old daughter wanted to go to church today she had to clean the house and carry the firewood from down the street to their house. So like 1 Nephi 3:7 says Our Father In Heaven prepared a way. We ran to the church walked in as they were singing the last song, sat down and the Bishop confirmed her!!!!!! Afterwards, we did the chores in the house and carried the firewood from down the street!!!!! It was super super crazy but I know with a firm knowledge that Our Father In Heaven really prepares a way for his children to complete the things he has asked us to do. Fun story right, haha!!!!!

I want you to know I love you guys and think of you all the time. Be safe in everything you do. Love you.

Ciudad Sandino Week 70

Ok well this week was a great week. I have a lot to say. We had a multi-zone, two baptisms and I had a great spiritual moment.
Well to start, the multi-zone!!! I taught about teaching and verifying with our investigators. I taught four 45 min. classes! Yes, they were very long. But I made mine fun. We played the game telephone before we started the class. The other missionaries loved it. Also the scary thing is that I now know almost everyone in the mission and I'm getting old for a missionary!!! The Sister that came out with me goes home in one change!!! Crazy!!!! I loved it here though and time is going too fast. It's sad...
This week we also baptized two men named Fuasto and Fransico. They were awesome and super excited for their baptisms. Fuasto even wanted to give the last prayer in his baptism. Which is like a shock because this guy was really timid when we started teaching him. I'll send some pics!
Also this week I would like to share something that happened to me this last week. This last Monday I was able to help Elder Niblet with a family. There were 4 in this family that were ready for baptism. The Father and the Mother needed to get married and but the Father was not on board. Before I talked to the Father I interviewed all the children and the Mother. At the end of each interview I asked each child to tell me something they loved about their Dad. I heard he was their hero, that he had started to change his life for them, that he is a hard worker, that they love him, and that they want him to get married and later also be baptized. I asked every one of them to close with prayer and if they would like to pray and ask Our Father In Heaven to touch his heart and for him to say yes to being married. I did the same with the Mother and asked her if she wanted to be married and have the opportunity to be a forever family. As she cried she told me she would want nothing more. She as well prayed for him to have a change of heart. When I spoke to the Dad I felt the sprit very strong working in the man. I felt the sprit touch his heart as he listened to the things his 3 children and wife (not married yet) told me. He told me yes, that he was willing to do it. The Mother and her children were baptized 2 days ago. I know this gospel is true and I know prayers are heard.

Ciudad Sandino Week 69

Q) So the biggest question on my mind is, are you really sick still? I looked up the sickness and it's a bad one. It says that you can have aches in your joints and in your muscles for a long time. A) I’m very blessed because I had it but it went away I’m perfectly fine;)

Q) How are you feeling? Tell me the truth. A) 100% really remember my blessing I’m not going to get way sick here, I’m good.

This week was crazy I had to find a new house for us because the old house that we were living in was bad. It wasn’t a bad house it was just too small.

The week was spent running around getting everything ready for conference. I was able to bring 11 people to church this last week. Two of which are getting baptized this week. One is named Fausto and the other Francisco.

I loved conference for a lot of reasons. First, I thought the talk about the sons of Mosiah and Laban and Lemuel were awesome. Mom I’m sorry that sometimes I did suffer in patience!!!

Also, the whole stake came to the conference!!! YES, all of Bello Amanecer came!!!! I saw everyone!!! All are still active! Brian, Helen, Leo, Christian, Trixie, and many more!!! I was so happy to see everyone. Leo is going on his mission as well!!!!!!! I was super excited for him!!!!

I’m sorry to say, but I have to go.  I have to keep getting ready for the multi- zone. Be safe. I’m praying for you all the time. I love you!!!!
